Work has been awful and eating all of my energy lately, and now that it's finally let up a little I want to play! Gimme plots, scenes, characters, anything. I can play with Clark or one of the other Kent folks, or any of my other characters. Open to playing "canon" stuff or one-offs, whatever you want.

This version of Clark is extremely AU, due to having access to a multiverse Nexus since he was seventeen. Many of the events of canon have still occurred, but the fine details are often quite different, and he's taken a slightly different path on his character development in order to become Superman. He's married to a Buffy the Vampire Slayer OC vampire instead of Lois Lane, with three children (plus three more adopted kids).

Clark is aware that Superman comics and movies exist, although he views them as a poor imitation of reality. He has never seen the Smallville TV show and does not know that it is a thing, but would not be terribly surprised if he was introduced to it. He is not very careful about his secret identity when he's not in his home universe (or other DC-based universes) because pretty much everyone he met in the multiverse knew he was Kryptonian before he ever even considered becoming a superhero.

If requested, I can play him more in line with Smallville canon. Otherwise, he'll be written from the AU perspective.

Threadhopping: Also not a problem!
Fourthwalling: Preferably not, although there are times where it's appropriate.
Offensive subjects: I can't think of any at the moment, but I will edit them in if they come up.

Hugging this character: Fine, although if Clark doesn't know you it might be awkward.
Kissing this character: If it's in character, it's probably okay. Clark might not reciprocate.
Flirting with this character: Absolutely fine, although Clark might not even pick up on it, depending.
Fighting with this character: Also fine! If you intend to have Clark fight you, please be aware that you might get hurt. He pulls his punches out of necessity but he can do a good amount of damage.
Injuring this character: Ask first. Under ordinary circumstances, Clark can't be injured by normal means. He can be hurt by green kryptonite, and blue kryptonite can nullify his powers while in proximity. Magic is also effective on him. As gold kryptonite can permanently render him powerless, I prefer not to have it in play at all.
Killing this character: Ask first. Clark has died and come back to life several times in the course of canon plots, but it is an unusual event, and I'd like a realistic way for him to come back if he's going to do it again.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Using them on him is fine, but be aware that he's had training on how to shield his mind from telepathic probes. A powerful telepath could get past them, as he is not psychic himself, but touch-telepaths and empaths shouldn't be able to get any more than surface thoughts unless he lets them hear more. He shares a telepathic bond with his wife that cannot be severed.

Warnings:
Clark has an overdeveloped sense of justice and fairness, so if you break the law in front of him, depending on the circumstances he might not let it slide. If you try to kill someone in front of him, he will not tolerate it and will probably never trust you again.

He is very protective of his family and friends. Threatening them is a great way to make Superman pissed off at you.

Solving a Problem

After returning from the Nexus, Clark can't stop thinking about part of his conversation with Emmett Brown. About certain assumptions that were made, and a potential solution to poor little Wil's perpetual illness problem.

He's still thinking about it as he arrives home at the farm in Smallville, and he pauses for a moment to listen for April's presence in the farmhouse.

[OOC] Important Announcement

As April's mun and I have mutually agreed that our characters have come to the relative end of their story arcs, and have gone through all the character development we'd planned for them, we're now planning a massive timejump ahead. We are NOT abandoning Clark and April, we're just moving them forward, and giving their kids a bigger focus as characters. And we don't want to spend years in realtime waiting for the kids to grow up, so this necessitates a timeskip (they're in 2017 now, endgoal is somewhere around 2030-2040, though we're not leaping straight there, just accelerating).

If there is anything you want to thread out with us before we leap forward, please let us know! I'd be happy to backtag some things as well, for a while.

Going Home

It's strange, but comforting, to be back on the farm again. Shelby sticks close to Clark as they walk the grounds, seeing what needs to be fixed or maintained since they left years back. Ahead of them, Ree dashes from one clump of weeds to the next, sniffing excitedly and barking at all the new smells, and the wide open spaces.

The house didn't take long to clean up, removing the dust that had settled on the shelves and floor, and most of their belongings are unpacked and arranged much like they were before. With some changes for the children, of course.

Had my surgery today, went well. I'm home but still tired/drugged so probably no RP today. We'll see how I'm feeling as time goes on. Not really in pain except a sore throat from the breathing tube, but I get pseudo-nauseated when I move around a lot so I'm probably just gonna nap.

[Party thread] Watchtower IN SPAAAAAACE

After nearly two years of planning, construction, and tests, the massive space station hanging in orbit over the planet Earth is finally open for business. It spins slowly on its axis, and on the observation deck, wrap-around windows ensure that any onlookers have a constant view of the planet below.

The control center is light up, news scrolling on a dozen monitors, an enormous holographic map of the planet projected with pinpoints of colored lights on its surface. A round table stands in the center, with room for nearly two dozen seats, and its aged surface still bears the symbol and motto of the Justice Society of America.

Now that the artificial gravity is working full-time, the Justice League have been able to set up tables for food and drink, more than enough to feed all the members and their invited guests. Away from the prying eyes of the world, this is truly a sanctuary where everyone can be themselves, and nothing less.

((Watchtower Orbital is officially throwing a house-warming party! Any of Clark and April's friends are invited to join the JLA for refreshments and conversation. No posting order required unless you want one. Feel free to talk to anyone and everyone. :D))

[OOC] Plotting post, again

Now that SWTOR's double xp week is over I can turn some attention back to RPing instead of leveling like a madman. Here's some new ideas, since it's been months since my last plotting post.

Night & Day

1. Orbital Watchtower has been under construction for some time now. I haven't decided when it should be finished, but when it is, I want to do a sort of JLA party type thing where they all check out their new HQ. Maybe smash a bottle of champagne on the hull or something. Cipher Nine and crew would be invited as thanks for contributing to its construction.

2. Clark Luthor needs some love... not literally. Well, maybe. But anyway, a while back I discussed running a plot where one of his employees is a spy, either for a rival corporation or the government, especially now that his orbital weapons platforms have become a reality. I'd like to play that out with Victor at least, maybe find a way to make the fire-lizards play an important role.

3. I really want Clark (and guests) to be able to visit Atlantis, since we haven't been there yet. I also have been listening to the Godzilla score way too much and I'm thinking about maybe having some enormous sea creature woken up, either by Atlanteans exploring or by humans drilling for oil or something. This could either lead to it terrorizing the sea (eating boats or something), or doing the cliche come-onto-land-and-destroy-cities thing. So maybe those two ideas could be combined.

4. Possible futureverse stuff with the Dheronians and Dru.

In a Multiverse Far, Far Away

1. I think enough time has passed for (Jedi) Kal-El to either be finishing his training or going off Tython with his master to do other things. Maybe this could lead to the Hoth thread, where he's stuck out in the snow overnight. This could possibly be to rescue another student in the game like April, having them take shelter overnight while he uses heat vision to keep them warm.

2. There's also the Tatooine going-after-a-krayt-dragon idea that we could run if we'd rather do something hot instead of snow. We don't have to do the planets in game-order after all. Either faction is fine.

Other stuff, other characters

1. I've been wanting to get some of my lesser-used characters out and about a bit more, so if you want to play with anyone from this list, let me know and we'll see if we can work something out!

2. Jack Harkness is (over)due to come back from The Year That Never Was, and I just haven't threaded it yet because other stuff has been happening. I want to do a thread with Ed helping out Torchwood the night Jack comes back. After that, Jack will be available for other plots as well.

3. Bigbyyyyyyyyyy! He's my newest pup but he's a fan favorite. Any threads that might benefit from having the Big Bad Wolf around, let me know and we'll try to get them to meet first at least.

A Cipher's Side Trip

Watchtower Orbital is coming along nicely. Superman and Martian Manhunter have both been hard at work constructing the frame and bulkheads, and the station is beginning to take shape. Part of that includes the adaptive docking station, able to change shape or use force fields to accommodate multiple types of vessels.

Right now, the Nightshrike is docked alongside, slowly rotating with the station itself. Watchtower isn't its full size just yet, but already it begins to dwarf the luxury yacht, making it appear almost like a bird perching on the back of a rhinoceros.

Inside the station, Clark nods in satisfaction as the newly-installed sensors begin sending in data. "Looks like the connection is solid. We're getting great signal. It'll take some bigger tests to see if the range is what it should be, but that'll be just fine for now." Between the sensors and the artificial gravity, this place is starting to feel like a real space station.

A Walk in the Park is Anything But

The day starts like any other. Clark wakes up, prepares for the day, kisses his wife goodbye, and heads to work. Jonathan wakes up early and spends his morning playing with his toy cars and watching cartoons while his mother makes breakfast. Things seem absolutely normal.

Halfway across the country, a crisis is brewing, the news only just now starting to hit the airwaves. An accident at a nuclear power plant, not life-threatening yet, but starting to go out of control.

Ride of the Valkyries

It's been a long time since Lana Lang has been back to Kansas. So much has changed, both here and in regards to herself.

She hasn't been out of touch, of course. Being a part of the Justice League means always being able to get in touch with Watchtower. But being on the other side of the planet, it gets a little lonely sometimes. And when news of Themyscira reached her in China, she knew she had to come back.

It takes her a short time to get the address of the apartment where the Kents now live, and she hopes that she isn't interrupting anything as she presses the buzzer.

Leading the Key Astray

Things have been rather different for Clark, since the birth of his second child. One was a treasure, but two is something he still has a hard time believing sometimes. And of course he always relishes the opportunity to show off his kids to his coworkers.

Today is another one of those times, as April is stopping by to take the family out to lunch. Clark tidies up his desk a little, getting his notes in order for the story he's working on, as he waits for her to arrive.

Sorry for not being very active for a couple of days, everyone! SWTOR has been eating all my attention. It's a fun game! But I also need to do RPing.

To that end, I thought I'd join the bandwagon and write a plotting post.

Night & Day

1. JLA stuff! At this point much of the team is already introduced and developed. Wonder Woman still has some work to do, as does Batman.

2. Superboy! A while back we were plotting to do a thread where he's watching the Kent children while their parents are off on JLA business, and ends up having to do hero things while protecting them, possibly having Jonathan playing a part. I had no luck thinking of a good scenario, but it is still on the table.

3. Shelby. Sad though it is, even fictional dogs are not immortal, and he's getting old. I figure around the time Jonathan turns five, it'll be time to say goodbye to him. I never like killing off characters no matter who they are, but it's good for plot and conflict to change the status quo.

4. Nexus friends! It's been a good while since Clark has had any adventures with Victor, for example. Or the inkwell group (Doc, Dee, Marty, Alice, Victor, etc). I am way open to plotting things of all sorts.

5. Clark Luthor. It's been some time since anything happened with Luthorverse, and I want to move him forward somehow. Maybe there could be some sort of deal he makes with the Kentverse for knowledge or resources, or maybe a threat from one world crosses over into the other, like when Lionel from Luthorverse came into Kentverse.

In a Multiverse Far, Far Away

1. (Jedi) Kal-El has met April, now they can meet and join forces to defeat ancient guardian droids to get at April's old Jedi records. Since we plan to have them forming a sort of partnership, this leaves us open to all sorts of plotting! In particular I think we should work on where they're going once their apprenticeships are over. Perhaps to the same planets for different reasons?

2. I want Kal-El to have some reason to go on a mission to Hoth, whether as an apprentice or after. It's one of the planets in Star Wars that is most like Krypton, though much colder than most other people enjoy. I sort of have a mental image of him being outside of the base overnight and them assuming he's dead from the extreme cold, then he comes back the next day like nothing's wrong. This could work for either Jediverse or Sithverse.

3. Kal-El will be spending a lot of time on planets whose climates he doesn't like, and I imagine Tatooine will be on top of that list, so this needs to be a stop too. I like the idea of him needing to go after a krayt dragon for some reason, maybe to get its pearls or to gain respect from the Tusken Raiders. One thing that could be done is if he's paired up with April in Jediverse, if she wants to learn the Sand People's history from their storyteller, they want a krayt dragon pearl to prove that she's worthy of learning the old history. And when you're going up against a 45-meter-long anything it's helpful to have a more durable Kryptonian around. For Sithverse, krayt dragons are known to be drawn to places of Dark Side energy, so maybe we could work with that.

[OOC] Putting together a Kryptonian "phrasebook" for the galactic traveler

I'm translating some basic sentences into Kryptonian in preparation for the Star Wars AU RP, assuming it ever gets started. I'd like to build up a nice phrasebank so I don't have to spend several minutes trying to figure out how to say what I want.

So far I have hello/goodbye, excuse me, please, thank you, yes and no, I don't understand, do you understand?, do you speak Kryptonian?, I don't speak Basic, what is your name?, my name is _____, Where is _____?, where are you from?, I am from _____, Who is your master/teacher?, who is your apprentice/student?, what color is the star?, happy birthday (nameday), happy solstice, that is an order, how much does this cost?, what time is it?, and May the Force be with you.

I am taking suggestions for things to translate! So if you can think of something that would be useful to know how to say, please don't hesitate to drop a comment. :D

Christmas party at Watchtower! [Party thread]

Watchtower Prime is fully decked out for Christmas, with lights and garlands, and a modest Christmas tree in the center of the circular main room. Even during its time serving as the Justice League headquarters, there have never been this many people under its roof at once. Not every members of the League is present, of course, as people don't stop being in need of help during the holidays, but those who have chosen to take this shift will trade off with others later, allowing everyone the chance to partake in the party.

There's a table covered in party snacks and Christmas treats along one wall, and both alcoholic and family-friendly beverages are available. Shelby and Ree, the Kents' golden retrievers, have both camped out under the table to catch any dropped food and beg from party guests.

((OOC: My characters in attendance include anyone on the Current Members list (except Kara), Clark and toddler Jonathan, Martha Kent, Jake Sully, Jack Harkness, and Harry Dresden. April's mun also brings to the table Spike and newborn Laura. There's no posting order unless you want one, so post around and have fun!))

Building a Global Headquarters

It's been several months since the Justice League officially started construction on their orbital Watchtower, and while a normal contracting company might take years to get things up and running, it certainly helps to have several heroes who can fly pieces of the station into orbit themselves.

There's still a lot of work to be done, of course. So far the only parts that are assembled are the basic frame and the central rooms, but they're airtight and pressurized, and that means it can start having guests to help with the detail work.

In Watchtower Prime, down on Earth, several heroes gather to discuss the current plans, and arrange a visit to test the stability of the work in progress.

Enter the Wonder Woman

As someone who works in the news industry, Clark has a heads-up on a lot of events that might be of interest to the Justice League. Natural disasters, crime waves, and outer space phenomena all cross his desk within minutes of someone knowing it's happening.

One line of news he's keeping a close eye on is Lex's involvement in politics. Though there are still two years to go before the elections are held, Lex is campaigning hard to get his image out to the country, and to get people to agree to his political ideas.

So it doesn't pass his notice when he gets reports of Lex reaching out to a newcomer in the country... a woman by the name of Diana, from Themyscira. Something everyone thought was a legend, until now.
